Project Overview
Christine Henning of Mackey Mitchell asked Image 4 to create a memorable feature wall for the new DePauw first year residents Hall. Image 4’s graphic design team created a series of art assets featuring textures and geometric patterns. A color palette was developed that reflected the gold and green colors of the farming communities surrounding the University.
Once the art assets were locked up, our designers created texture/pattern murals scaled to each desired application location within the residence hall. The pattern was also extended to the kitchenette area, and each floor in the multi-story building received a unique color treatment. Overlaying the graphic wallcoverings, floating acrylic panels with campus lifestyle images floated on brushed aluminum hardware. As the buildings mature, the graphic images can be updated easily.
Image 4 created printer files and color controls for release to a local print shop, and managed production quality control for our portion of the project. The building is scheduled to be completed in late 2020.
