Project Overview

President Dick Berggren, a renowned automotive journalist and announcer, asked Image 4 to partner to develop information and interpretation graphics for the then in-concept museum. This relationship grew as the project grew, with Image 4’s content and copywriting and graphic design teams adding to the visual and storyline project of the exhibition.

The museum displays a core group of artifacts and vehicles. Image 4 staff edited copy, designed a format for the interpretation panels, and flowed images and copy into the format. Tremendous time was invested in image editing and optimization, in order to present the best possible photos from a variety of sources.

Outside the core collection, the Museum accepts loaner vehicles for special display. Image 4 industrial designer group created a series of display stands allowing for rapid change of content to accommodate the frequent artifact changes.

As the collection firmed up, our design team assisted in creating “boutique” display areas – such as the Drag Race corner – where murals of New England Dragway were installed to the walls to set the diorama scene for a pair of drag cars – complete with starting “Christmas tree”; and the LeMans corner which features the Binney LeMans racer.

Image 4 is thrilled to support the project long-term with graphic changes, image editing and installation.
